I am an author and freelance travel writer. Welcome to my website. Please browse around and read some of my work. My most recently published article appears at the bottom of each page of the website. My travel and food pieces appear frequently in South Africa's Sunday Times - a newspaper with more than 4 million readers, making it significantly bigger than the combined readership of the UK's Sunday Times, Sunday Telegraph, Independent on Sunday and Observer - and I make occasional contributions to other South African publications including Getaway and AA Traveller. I also work with SANParks (South African National Parks) on their Wild magazine and blog on their website.
My first book, Do NOT Take This Road to El-Karama, was published in 2008 but is out of print and therefore no longer in bookshops. You can however buy the digital version for your Kindle or iPad on Kalahari here or on Amazon here. More recently, however, I have written a number of travel guidebooks and websites.
In addition to my writing, I am a dedicated hotelier, a tourism and hospitality industry consultant, a keen quiz and cryptic crossword compiler and an amateur historian so there is something for almost everyone here. As well as pieces I have written, you will find details of recent and future travels. Please feel free to contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org if I may be of assistance (or if you can be of assistance to me). All feedback is welcomed and all emails will receive responses.
